Jo is particularly respected for her capacity to cross examine expert witnesses in relation to matters such as footprint evidence, DNA, fingerprints, cell site analysis, blood spatter evidence and firearms residue.
Jo has a particular interest in homicides including those caused by road traffic collisions. She is experienced in shaken baby syndrome cases, infanticide and mercy killing and has written for publication on those topics.
Jo is also regularly instructed to prosecute and defend in cases involving serious violence, rape and other serious sexual offences, large scale drugs trafficking and production, fraud and dishonesty.
Jo has been a criminal lawyer, either at the Bar or as a police station legal advisor, for over fifteen years. She prosecutes and defends at all levels.
Jo is head of the military courts martial team in Chambers. She has represented servicemen in the UK and abroad. She is also well acquainted with operational law and the law of armed conflict.
